Gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of unhoused veterans, the unique challenges they face, and what you can do to help restore dignity in their lives through healthy smiles!
After an introduction to the nonprofit's work, you'll begin assembling dental kits for veterans in need. Each team member will pack three dental kits consisting of toothpaste, dental floss, and a toothbrush. As you put together your kits, you'll watch an informative video about veterans and then play a fun quiz game to test your newfound knowledge!
While the nonprofit primarily supports veterans in Arizona, it collaborates with other organizations to extend its assistance to veterans in various states. For many of these veterans, these dental kits play a vital role in their reintegration into society, enabling them to eat comfortably, engage in daily activities without pain, and experience a renewed sense of confidence that empowers them to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.
These dental kits mark each veteran's acceptance into the nonprofit’s support program, which provides them with critical dental care. A clean, healthy smile is integral in getting them back into the workforce, finding decent housing, and restoring their dignity—ultimately reducing the likelihood of self-harm.
