What you’ll do

Support unhoused individuals by assembling thoughtfully designed care kits called Dignity Bags! These specialized kits contain personal essentials and vital hygiene items that allow unhoused community members to meet their basic needs and retain their dignity during challenging times. Your team will receive everything needed to assemble these impactful kits and provide comfort and solace to unhoused members of the community.

During the experience, your team will gather virtually for gratitude practice, a review of the kit-building instructions, and detailed information on returning the kits. Your kit comes equipped with an array of items ready for your personal touch—let your creativity flow as you craft your own unique design and compose a heartfelt message for the recipient of your kit! After personalizing and packaging your kits, they’ll be ready to be sent back to the nonprofit to be distributed to communities in need. 

Agenda:

  • Overview of the Organization (5 minutes)
  • Step-by-Step and Interactive Kit Instruction Review (5 minutes)
  • Gratitude Practice and Intention Setting as a Group (5 minutes)
  • Packing Kits (Time will vary)
  • Celebrating the Impact (3 minutes)

What's included

Classic Kynd Kits contain everything required to make a meaningful care package for someone else.

Each Dignity Bag for the Unhoused Classic Kynd Kit includes:

  • Blank card and envelope
  • Socks
  • Hygiene items
  • Snacks
  • DIY canvas bag
  • Supplies for decorating canvas bag and card
  • Other assorted personal items and toiletries

What else you should know

  • After completing a kit, simply attach the prepaid shipping label to your kit and mail it!
  • Kits can be delivered to multiple addresses or a single location. If shipping to multiple addresses, volunteers will provide their name and address when registering for the event. Each per-person donation covers shipping, the kit itself, and return shipping.
  • Shipping outside of the United States is available upon request for an additional cost. 
  • Each participant will complete one kit. If kit materials are delivered to a single location, they may be packed in an assembly line upon request.
